An update of late.

Hello!

It has been too long since my last update. I keep saying I will be posting here more, but then I get caught up with other projects or media site. I’ve been contending with a slump of sorts and m working my way through it. I just don’t feel as prolific as I used to be. Hopefully this mood will end soon.

So, news:

Books! I wrapped up my latest children’s picture book late last year. So far the latest series includes Moose Family Halloween, Moose Family Thanksgiving, and Moose Family Christmas. I will be taking a break from picture books to try and rejuvenate that energy I once had. Though I’m taking a break, I will continue to make sketches and simple drawings for the author‘s series of chapter books for young readers (Moose Family Adventures). Also later last year I was able to complete a cover for The Body He Left Behind poems by Reese Conner. Creating the rework for the cover seemed to come so easily after reading the beautiful poetry.

IKEA!

Last year I licensed two images to IKEA. They were slated for release in January 2022, but Covid delayed production and pushed the initial release date to April 2022. The list of countries the images are available in is growing. We are excited and look forward to the release on the US site. Health!

As I mentioned, I have been in a slump and have not been a productive as I want to be. I am working on it and hope to get better. Slumps don’t feel good and can happen to anyone. Don’t be too hard on yourself because you’re not being as productive as you think you should be. Take the time to rest and rejuvenate. I have also been having issues with my hand. The reflex, or response, has not been performing well, and I have been feeling the results of carpal tunnel syndrome. I am doing physical therapy for both issues and my hand is slowly improving.

That seems to be the main things going on with me. If you’ve written to me and I have not responded, please reach out again here or on other social media platforms. I will do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Just a quick note: busy 2017

I had planned on posting more often and being more involved here this 2017, but it’s been busy, not to mention that I’m juggling between 4-5 sites with posting work. I need to follow my own advice and remember that less is more. 
It’s been busy which means I have been producing a lot of work: commissions, illustrations, books. Being busy is good, but it leaves little time to explore other styles and genres of artwork. We shall see what 2018 allows. 
Speaking of 2018, I have another children’s book that I hope to have completed and printed by February. I am planning on submitting artwork for Spectrum 25, but I’m unsure of what I have that will fit. I will be looking into other venues to show work too.

And in keeping with doing my best to do better than yesterday, I paraphrase one of my friends and spiritual advisors who said, “Remember life is short. Be quick to love.”

A New Year

Times are still busy. I've finished up a good amount of projects but there are still many to go. I intend to have more of a presence here on this site this year. We shall see how well I can juggle projects and online business.

Busy Times

Busy times! Spring is here and I haven't caught my breath from the autumn and winter holiday season. With spring comes festivals and fundraisers. Another book is to be completed by mid April (if all goes according to plan), students to teach, more commission work to be completed and a solo show this autumn. The solo exhibit seems far away but I know art-wise it is not. 

Im tired. 
Maybe some coffee should keep me going.
