The moth and butterfly here share similar meanings: the soul; as metamorphosis from caterpillar to winged creature, rebirth. The moth is also a lunar creature and carries lunar symbolism: the rhythm of cyclic time; enlightenment; the spiritual aspect of light in darkness.
Acrylics, direct image transfer, packing tape transfer, pastel, pencil (graphite) on wood.

I like that you explained what the different creatures represent! Thanks for that. :meow:

Neat that it looks like rust on the cat, or the paint has been worn away. Cat looks amazing as do the butterflies, but my absolute favourite part of this is the trees in the background!
Wow, I didn't notice them at first, but man, do they look wicked.

I think I had someone request to know some of the symbolism of the piece, so I obliged.
The cat's body was a happy accident. Originally, it was a direct image transfer that went horribly wrong. Instead of scrapping the whole piece I decided to fill in the cat a bit and there you are.
I am pleased you like those trees!
Many thanks!
