I enjoy this particular piece very much. Simplistic in it's portrayal and in it's color tones. The brighter colors make the bird "pop" from the melancholic background. In a sense that it symbolizes a radiance or hope for even the gloomiest of days. I can sense the field of depth with how it's positioned and the shading is outstanding. My favorite points are actually the small details. The circle with the line and small rectangle(?) around the bird's head, the blueish leg (I love that), and the perfectly imperfect area of "splotchy" paint on the back of the it. It gives a a tinge of texture looking at it in this perspective. Very well done sir.
The simplicity of the drawing part is very effective, and combined with the fine colors it truly deserves its place in my favourites Have you cropped the photo as the painting really is? I'm not sure, if the circle should be a little lower instead of touching the edge... On the other hand, it makes the composition more exciting. The small word is really simple but striking detail too. And the texture, whoa..!
There was some fish eye issues going on so the image was cropped a bit. On the detail it can be seen that the circle, though still close, doesn't touch the edge of the painting. I appreciate your input. Thank you much!
Really gorgeous colours and wonderful contrast of smooth strokes and texture. There's such a great sense of movement within the piece. I just want to fall into it.
