Little Blue Tree by SethFitts Little Blue Tree by SethFitts
Acrylics and pastel on wood. 3-1/2x2-1/2 inches.

great on the little blue tree , how the trunk almost disappears on the mist , like standing on a tip , and a light blue ,
it comes so near , dark blue falling away

Two blues, I think (Manganese Blue and Phthalo Turquoise made by Golden paints). Both are great colors. Thank you!!!!

I love how you create these unstable trees, It's not what I would draw . but that makes it so interesting! I really like it!

Almost a contradiction to real trees, aren't they? A stable grounded trunk with wispy, ethereal foliage.

The pastel is the trunk and shadow. the blue consists of 2 blues made by Golden acrylics: turquoise phthalo and the other is something like a cyano blue. I will have to get back to the studio to get the correct name.
I'm glad you like it.

I like your tree very much. a big blue bushy tree. the texture is very beautiful and fragile.
may I ask also about the texture of paper you use. You made it, you buy it?

This is done on wood. Some of the textures you see may be from brushstrokes and medium.

I think the wood was wet when I pressed the paint onto it giving an almost wet into wet feel. Whatever it was it worked! Thank you very much!

I notice the top is missing off, is this because the wood ends?

I love this, and I want it! It looks so alien, but so beautifully pacifying.
