 Your pieces always rob me of words and then I never know what to say! This is so wonderful. There's this wonderful complexity amongst the simplicity of your work. And it really blows me away. Stunning.

I love his posturing. He seems so optimistic and bold, gazing upwards, especially with that little triangle floating above his head...he's cute.

You know Seth, your work always cheers me up in a very substantial way. You cheer me up from the soul... which is no mean feat on the internet!

Also: I am going to have a play with Matte medium I think. I always think of drawing as being the prep stage of things, as I layer paint and you can't really do that with just drawing as it smudges or bleeds and the layers aren't substantial enough... so I'm going to see what matte medium can do for me! I'll let you know!

I am very pleased to know that my work has that effect on you. Thank you!

Matte medium. I think everyone has there own preferences but I suggest Golden's Matte Medium [link] There are different versions of this stuff, fluid and super loaded. Get the stuff that says Matte Medium. The others don't have the same characteristics as the "original".
If you can't get the Golden brand then make sure whatever get says "can be used as a translucent ground" or that it provides tooth, so you can draw on top of it (not all matte mediums allow for this).
Remember, as you use the medium the drawing will smudge and smear depending upon the drawing media used. If the paper curls when it dries, flip it over and paint medium on the back of the sheet to flatten it out.
I can't think of anything else to tell you at the moment. Feel free to ask me questions as they come up.
Good luck!!!!

I am excited! I think my art shop sells Golden paints and mediums, and if they don't they order it in for me anyway. EXCITED.
