Another piece from the altered book/art project on which I am working.
"Being". Is it noun or verb here? Maybe both.
Acrylics and multiple dry media on old page of a book.
Approximately 8x6 inches.

I love the words that form the shadow of the tree. Completely captivating. And I agree, the frame works splendidly. The texture of the foreground really draws the eye, the contrasts are gorgeous and the yellow tone gives it the perfect rich atmosphere. Another wonderful piece! ^__^

Thank you so much! The yellow tone was applied only recently. The image sat as a b&w in the old book for awhile. I had been trying to decide if and what tone should go on it.

I love the internal framing, and how the lines of text in the background are just barely visible. :D

Yes, me too. I think it adds to the textures and give an interesting underlying pattern.
Thank you!

it will have more of an edge to it if the word "being" was composed of different newspapaper cut letters.

Yes I agree. The thought did cross my mind but I did not want it for this project. Part of the process on this piece was seeking out words on the book page that stood out more than the rest. After I found the proper word, I paint or draw an image around it.
I will probably use the different letters technique on a piece in the near future.
Thank you! :)
