This image inspired me to write a poem. Here it is, hope you like:

I piggyback on the melatonin boatload
the sleek and tender scale-laden swamp cleric
it somehow never snaps at small birds
that populate and ride it's back like a river trolley
or like a taxi on the waterfront that admits them
Chirps and flying looped gestures
of appreciation act as only naturespeak can provide

though it may feel like their intruding footsteps
are an intrusion during a mid-day swim
they rendezvous on the helipad of it's backside
peacefully, while the gator floats on
An example of altruism
for all interdependent ecoloyalists
The chlorine-free yellow eye
focused, as if to symbolize 'my pleasure, chirpies...'
"My pleasure."

I like the graphic quality of the scales.......the slight exageration of them. Charming too the birds along for the ride which I know happens in real life.

I don't know what it is about your work that continues to speak to me. Something about the line-work, I think. :)

I haven't added anything to my DA in ages -- too phobic! When I get a little more recognition for my items then I'll probably post pictures.:) My sculpture is currently off in some distant art gallery, awaiting my retrieval in a few days~ I'll be sure to send a photo your way, if you like, though!

And you're very welcome!

I like the shapes you've made with the drop shadow of the caiman. That's what made me stop and take a closer look. Nicely done!

I love the alligator's (or crocodile's) texture, it looks so smooth. And I love its little legs. :meow:

I did not make this gator or croc specific, I tried combing characteristics of both focusing on the ridges on the back.
I am pleased you like it! Thank you!!!

It always amazes me how simple your works look, yet when one looks closer, those have so much detail, depth and feeling to them. As if those were truly alive. And at least I am finding it as sort of soulfood.
